Spring is in the air! Ignore the pollen - feel all of the renewing energy instead! Feels good, doesn't it?
I had an epiphany of sorts this week. The last purple scrap project using these
had a thin orange border on it, which I took off because my search for more background fabric came up empty.
The plan switched to using the orange fabric as binding.
I then proceeded to prep the background, which was a very pretty solid purple. With no time to load the quilt, I walked away, leaving the top hanging on the background.
The next day came the epiphany. The top looked fantastic with a border of purple!
One problem - the orange pieces in the design ended abruptly against the border. And so the pieces are now back on.
I have yet to add the purple border, but this gives an idea of what it will look like. Just little peeks for now, as this design may be made into a big quilt later.
Now, let's look at some creative pieces from last week.
Sandra at Quilting at the Cro's Nest has this fun circle piece, Happy Days, she's working on.
I like what she's got going so far, don't you?
Anna at Sew- Knot Often Enough made the Moda Bake Shop Simply Woven blocks, then cut them up for this great design. Fabulous, right?
And last but not least in the creative department, was Serena at Sew Giving, who used every frog fabric she had to create this modern design for her daughter, who luckily, still loves frogs.
